General Information

1. Who are the primary contacts from your organization? Please list names, titles, email addresses, and phone numbers

2. What is you intended launch date for the new site? Are there any outside considerations that might affect the schedule (for example, PR launch, trade show, annual report)?

Business Objective

5. Do you feel your current site promotes a favorable user experience? If not, please list any shortcomings on the site or anything you would like changed.

Technology

1. What is your target platform and browser? Whom can we talk to in your organization to help respond to technical issues?

2. Will you need any of the following? Check all that apply.

3. Daily visitors : The number of daily visitors you expect your site to have. Calculate an average across the month. Do not over-complicate it and work it out day-by-day.

4. Daily page views : calculate an average projection across the month.

5. Daily file downloads : How many times will content be downloaded from your site on a daily basis in terms of additional files independent of your web pages?

6. Average page size : What is the average size of your pages, all things included, in KB.

7. Average downloaded file size : How big is the average file you can download from your site? Err on the side of caution and always go bigger if in doubt. Measure this in KB, too

8. Tolerance number : This is basically your ‘room for error.’ If ‘1’ is your estimate, make this number 1.33, or 1.5, depending on how confident you are in your projections. If you believe your site may grow quickly, aim for a higher number.

Content

1. Do you have content for the site? If not, will you be creating content in-house or using an outside provider?

2. How will the content of this site differ from your current site? Do you already have a sitemap or outline for the proposed design?

Marketing / Audience

1. Describe a typical site visitor/ target audience: How often are they online, what do they use the web for? Include basic demographics: age, occupation, income level, purchasing habits. (Use as much detail as possible in profiling your target. Profile more than one type if appropriate.)

2. What is the primary “action” the site visitor should take when coming to your site (i.e. make a purchase, become a member, search for information)?

3. What are some of the key reasons the target audience chooses your companyʼs products and/or services (cost, service, value)?

4. What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience? (IE costeffective, secure, reliable, efficient.)

5. Do you have Google Analytics and/or Bing Analytics installed on the current site? Would you like support with analytics?

6. Will you need 301 redirects from an old site?

7. Do you have an email marketing account set up? If so, which vendor do you use?

E-commerce

1. Describe what you will be selling (hard goods, services, downloadable product). Do products have particular features? (Please describe all options and configurations of size, color, strap, finish, etc.)

2. Do you want the ability for users to share products via social channels? What about “tell a friend”?

3. How many categories? How many products initial and how many products in a year?

4. Do you want to set up cross-selling, upselling on the product detail pages?

5. Do you need particular search filters for searching the product catalog?

6. Do you need to integrate with any ERP or 3PL? Would you want to import product data initially from a .csv file?

7. How will you be managing inventory?

8. Will you be generating coupon codes, discounts? Describe how youʼd like these to work

9. Will there be any particular shipping rules (free shipping over a certain cost, flat rate, table rates, etc.)

10. What shippers will you be using?

11. Which payment gateways and services do you want to offer? (PayPal, Google Wallet, bank transfer, COD, check/ money order, zero total checkout).
